Look Sharp, people! Dr. Frank Sharp, that is, a Longhorn rancher from . This guy not only is integral to the Cattlemen’s Texas Longhorn Conservancy (CTLR), but he also knows his stuff, as he “wrote his doctoral dissertation on Texas Longhorn cattle, his research focusing on Texas Longhorn history, symbolism, genetics, and preservation.” We hope you follow our links to visit the CTLR’s website, to learn more.

This week we go back in time to 2001, and the Backyard Green Films adventure we called “The Mas Vacas Tour.” We came away from our Texas filming trip with a better understanding of the rugged piece of agricultural history known as the original Texas Longhorn. And this time, that critter has a bigger anniversary than the little one we celebrate -- over 500 years of adaptation and rugged survival.
